My name is Joyce Nevaquaya Harris. I am enrolled with the Comanche Nation and a descendant of the Choctaw, Chickasaw and Crow nations. I grew up surrounded by art and artists, such as my late father, Doc Tate Nevaquaya, a renowned artist, Oklahoma treasure and National treasure.
I consider my art as a medicine and spiritual connection from past stories of our ancestors and of today. To name a few of my awards and accomplishments/a painting "Peace" hangs in the Office of the Secretary of Interior, I have numerous art pieces in the "Wyld" Gallery located in Austin, Texas, as well as the Tribes 131 Gallery in Norman, Oklahoma. I was also featured on Oklahoma Travel Guide, I was one of the artist to look for in the, Washington DC post.
I look forward to hear from my viewers. Thank you! ,
